Volunteering in Art Programs is a platform where if you are interested in the visual arts, you can volunteer for multiple art projects and events with a single registration.
Our goal is to create a unique online platform in Hungary in the cultural sphere, specifically in the field of visual arts, through which we provide opportunities for art enthusiasts of all ages to glimpse into and become part of the cultural, mainly contemporary visual arts community
We consider it an important mission to provide young people (especially those in the area of culture and academic studies) with the opportunity to participate in a variety of artistic events (festivals, exhibitions, fairs, etc.) and to be active in the arts. ), through internships or voluntary work, to get involved in preparatory, organisational and administrative tasks, thus discovering which field or type of institution is best suited to them, helping them to find their way around so that when they enter the labour market, with practical skills behind them, they can choose their career with confidence.
We provide a separate platform for universities with arts and art theory departments to offer practice opportunities for their students, offering collaboration with arts organizations and art festivals where they seek volunteers or interns.
All art enthusiasts, but especially YOU, if you are studying fine arts or if you are considering a career in the cultural sector and want to build experience and contacts with institutions, galleries, cultural professionals and artists.
The volunteer positions and tasks will vary from event to event (exhibition, fair, festival, gallery intern), and a detailed description will be sent before each event. A few typical examples.
Assisting in preparation tasks: exhibition set-up; package assembly; distribution of promotional material to the venues.
Assistant event organiser: assisting with preparations for events, e.g. venue decoration, reception, registration, cloakroom management;

I started volunteering at art festivals in 2023, and I think I've grown a lot both professionally and personally through my experiences there. No one is left alone with their tasks, the volunteer coordinators are always there to help. The team is always made up of friendly and open-minded members, so it's easy to get things done together. We also spend a lot of time together outside of the official programmes, and it's always a good company to work with! Good luck, go for it! Dóri
I am currently studying at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Fine Arts and Theory as a curator.In 2019 I started volunteering as a museology intern at the Rippl-Rónai Museum in Kaposvár. It was a positive experience, giving me the opportunity to see the hard work behind the scenes and to get to know the museum environment. I decided to continue volunteering during my university years, volunteering at the Art Market Budapest in 2022 and 2023 as a stand assistant, and at the Night of Art Festival in 2023. Volunteering is not only a way to help others, but also an unforgettable experience and a chance to meet great people. The volunteer team is always open, friendly and helpful. Don't hesitate to be part of this experience!
My first volunteering was at the 2022 Night of the Artifact Festival (where I got through my studies, majoring in Design and Art Management), where I fell in love with this "job", the harmony of the programmes and the organisation, the cohesive team, the good vibes created an atmosphere where I felt: yes, this is my place! I was also a member of the volunteer team of Art Market Bp. and I was involved as a coordinator in 2023, which was a wonderful experience. I also worked at the first AWB event. Volunteering provides an opportunity to network, to learn, to have fun, I wouldn't call it a job, but more like an event I'm excited about, LIKE A SMALL HOLIDAY. I encourage everyone, try it at least once, but you will likely return several times. See you at the next art event!
What useful knowledge and benefits can you gain from the VAP program?
As a volunteer, you can participate in exciting programs related to high-quality artistic events, making the work a memorable experience.
You can get insights into the background work of art institutions and galleries, as well as into artists' studios.
We offer multiple volunteer opportunities throughout the year, some of which are short-term activities that won't interfere with your studies or other commitments.
